Down A Spiritual Path...

Some regular readers may remember some of my Spiritual related posts. That is one of the "S" words that was the basis for this blog. I can't put my finger on it, but over the last year, I've both consciously and unconsciously made efforts to delve into that area both inwardly and outwardly.

While I've been taking a few minutes when I first arrive at work to thank God for my job, health, happiness, and family, I also bought a book entitled, "Jesus Unplugged". I did a Google search for Jesus and related phrases as I was looking for more insight to the man and his actions, but not from a heavy handed "religious" view.

I picked up this book last night on special order from Borders based on some brief excerpts I viewed from some on-line reviews. As I walked to my car with book in hand, I had a peaceful calm that I rarely experience. Often my mind is awhirl with "to-do's" around the home, career frustrations, etc. I smiled to myself as that calm was also met with a vision of me going down on my wife Sunday afternoon and I said a silent thanks to God that he gave me such a beautiful and challenging wife. I knew at that moment that I just had to post this topic as it was quite surreal...walking with a book on Jesus and thinking about oral sex with my wife!

One interesting path of note in my spiritual awakening occurred while I watched "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe". I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone if they're waiting for it to come out on DVD so I'll just say for those that have seen the movie, the scene with Aslan, the Witch, and the Stone Table moved me to tears. I still get choked up about it a bit and on the surface it seems rather silly. But when I think of the realities/symbolisms of this, it's hard to be moved if you are a Christian.

While writing this, I came up with a new slogan:

Faith...It Does A Soul Good.

and to show that I'm not without sin...a blowjob from my wife also feeds my soul!
